NFL rookie Travis Hunter has reunited with the airline passenger who went viral for her encounter with the Jacksonville Jaguars player earlier this year.
Hunter and Sandy Combs first met on a flight in May, shortly after the former Colorado football star was selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Combs was impressed by the Hunter's kindness before finding out he was a soon-to-be NFL star.
“He offered to put my bag in the overhead compartment and helped me with my tray,” Combs recalled in a Facebook post. “He was always polite, saying ‘yes ma’am’ or ‘no ma’am.’ Anyone would be proud to have him as a son or grandson — so polite.”
As more passengers boarded the flight, several recognized Hunter and congratulated him, which piqued Combs’ curiosity. She noticed he was wearing Jaguars gear and asked if he was an athlete.
“He smiled and said, ‘I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags,’” Combs recalled. “I already told my sons I want his jersey.”
Combs said her son immediately responded to the selfie she took with Hunter.
“Charles immediately answered,” she told Good Morning Football. “He never immediately answers when I call him. He said, ‘Mama, how did you sit next to Travis Hunter?’ I said, ‘I’m in first class.’”
Combs, proudly wearing a Hunter's jersey, attended the Jags' Monday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs at EverBank Stadium. Before the game, Combs reunited with Hunter on the field, where the two embraced and posed for a photo.
The Jaguars called the reunion a "full circle moment."
After Monday's (October 6) reunion, Hunter made a highlight-reel catch during the Jags' 31-28 win over the Chiefs.
