Gabrielle Union & ‘AGT’ Reach Settlement Over Toxic Workplace Allegations

Gabrielle Union and NBC have reached a settlement following the former America’s Got Talent judge's claims of "rampant workplace toxicity" on the talent competition series, Variety reports.

“We’ve reached an amicable resolution. NBC Entertainment appreciates the important concerns raised by Gabrielle Union and remains committed to ensuring an inclusive and supportive working environment where people of all backgrounds can be treated with respect,” the network and the 47-year-old actress' spokespeople said in a joint statement.

In May, Gabrielle broke her silence on the "physical and emotional toxicity" she experienced during her sole season as a judge on AGT, speaking at length to Variety about her time on the show. “At the end of all this, my goal is real change — and not just on this show but for the larger parent company. It starts from the top down. My goal is to create the happiest, most high-functioning, inclusive, protected and healthy example of a workplace," she said before sharing her reactions to several incidents, which included multiple racially-charged incidents and health violations, she alleged to have happened on her inaugural season.

The interview came a month before Gabrielle filed a harassment complaint against AGT and accused former NBC Entertainment chairman Paul Telegdy of threatening her for speaking out against the work culture. It was also her first AGT-focused interview since she was let go by NBC last September following her complaints about the "rampant workplace toxicity."

In their latest report, Variety noted that "in an internal investigation that was never formally completed, distributor NBC and producer FremantleMedia found no evidence of systemic racism but made significant changes to the human resources reporting process for employees at numerous parties involved in the show."
